FRUGAL Pin of the Day!

Source: Athomeonthebay.com

I am so excited about today’s Pin of the Day! I love unconventional, and if I had a window in my kitchen this would be something I would totally do. I love that it’s made out of reclaimed wood so each piece is going to be unique in it’s own way. This idea I found on Pinterest and it super cute. Read on!

This adorable reclaimed wood “valance” comes from At Home on the Bay. There’s no tutorial for this unfortunately, but I think it’s easy enough (and hey, it’s FREE if you can find a slab of wood and some paint) and you can be creative with what you want yours to say.

I hate having loose fabric in the kitchen (always makes me nervous) plus I am not a fan of ruffly valances and this can be used alone or in conjunction with mini-blinds (covers them up when fully open).

Head over to At Home on the Bay, I think you will like all their cute little projects (and hey, they are about DIY on a budget! A blog after my own heart!) and let them know I sent ya!

About An Exercise In Frugality

I live in Minnesota with my wonderful fiance, Andrew, my dog Bear, and my cat Loki. I started couponing in July of 2011 as a financial necessity. We were broke, in debt and on a dangerous path. Since I have learned to coupon, I have saved literally thousands of dollars, enabling us to get our finances back on track, and save money to pay for our wedding, and purchase our first home (which we plan to do in the next year!).
